These environmental concerns and details are often skipped, but are intrinsic markers of a person, their upbringing and their life. Two strains are significant to discuss, where social or communal uprbringing provides the best social cues and development for the child, or does parenting restrict itself to just the family threshold? Familial upbrining is a style of upbringing where your family is the primary caregiver vs in communal upbringing where the community leads the upbringing of the child.

They maintain other aspects of a traditional marriage, including but not limited to sharing childcare responsibilities and financial obligations to each other.   • This House prefers a world in which humans reproduced externally

    Humans reproduce internally, through the act of sex. For the purposes of this debate, external reproduction involves organisms releasing gametes into the environment, which randomly combine. This process produces thousands of embryos, of which a small proportion mature into babies. In this world, babies are still adopted and cared for by parents. Organisms that reproduce externally cannot also reproduce internally.

  • This house would have schools actively encourage children to question authority

    For the purposes of this debate, authority can have a range of different meanings, including the knowledge you learn, teachers at school, the police and government in everyday life, and parents within families. Questioning that authority can involve a wide variety of different things, whether it be through words (verbal), actions, or the attitude with which you treat that authority.

  • This house supports Dumbledore’s Army during Umbridge’s reign.

    Dolores Umbridge is appointed as the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher and later becomes Hogwarts’ High Inquisitor. Under her dictatorial leadership, the Ministry of Magic imposes strict control over the school, forbidding practical defense lessons and punishing dissent. Despite increasing signs of Lord Voldemort’s return, the Ministry refuses to acknowledge this threat. In response, a group of students led by Harry Potter forms Dumbledore’s Army (D.A.), a secret organization that teaches practical defense skills, promotes student solidarity, and prepares for the dark forces ahead. Participation is explicitly against school rules and, if discovered, could lead to expulsion or other serious punishment.
