    Infoslide

A dyson sphere is a spherical structure, or spherical swarm of sattelites, that would surround the sun to capture its energy rather than relying on the tiny fraction that reaches earth's surface. Constructing a dyson sphere would require an enormous amount of material and energy, but would in turn capture close to 100% of the sun's energy for human use. It is widely accepted that getting the material needed would require disassembling a planet, the most suitable candidate is Mercury.
