    Over the last decade, scientists have identified a range of chemicals that exist naturally in the brain and shape individuals’ moral behaviour. Significant amounts of research is now being carried out to create “moral enhancement drugs”, which would alter the levels of such chemicals. Such drugs have been shown to increase individuals’ tendencies to display empathy and care for others, to behave in altruistic way, and to resist pressures to act in ways that violate their personal and ethical beliefs.

This was the first time since the end of the Korean War (1953) that the country had expelled North Korean refugees — or “defectors” , who were already on South Korean soil and expressed a desire to stay.

    At the end of May 2021, the flow of illegal migrants to Lithuania, Poland and Latvia from the territory of Belarus increased sharply. The European Union accused the Lukashenka regime of provoking the migration crisis and organizing the transfer of illegal immigrants to the EU borders as revenge for the sanctions imposed against the regime. Lithuania Latvia and Poland declared a state of emergency and strengthened the borders. Despite this, cases of breakthroughs by migrants continue.     Around 40% of ISIS’s foreign recruits want to quit. An organization in Turkey has been working to bring them back after thorough vetting. However, countries like Germany refuse to take these people back, citing the reasons of backlash, security, and how they no longer identify these people as citizens of their state. this leads to the ostracisation of ISIS recruits who are willing to start over, leaving them with no place to permanently relocate to.

    In 2016 Turkey began accepting refugees from the Syrian and Iraqi conflicts to limit their entry into the EU and taking in refugees who had entered Greece in exchange for fast-tracking negotiations for its potential accession into the EU. In 2020 Turkey stopped policing its border with the EU and has allowed refugees to enter into the EU again.
