    The Igbo folklore tells the story of Chukwu (God) who sent a dog to deliver the secret of immortality to man, along the way the dog got distracted and never delivered the secret. So Chukwu once again sent the sheep but the sheep, too stupid, also failed to deliver. In time the first man died and was sprinkled with ash and therein, man lost his claim to immortality.
