  • This house prefers the Eastern philosophy of karmic rebirth and moksha over the Abrahamic conception of heaven and hell as a model of moral consequences and afterlife.

    Infoslide

Certain schools of Eastern Philosophy (Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism) see the moral consequences of one's actions (karma) unfolding across one's life and subsequent lives. The soul is constrained to a cycle of rebirth, trapped within the temporal world (saṃsāra), until it finally achieves liberation from this cycle of rebirth (mokṣa). In contrast, the Abrahamic model (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) posits a one-life system where, upon death, one's entire moral determination is judged by God and sent to Heaven or Hell for eternity.

  • Assuming an entirely rational and well-educated voterbase, This house would set the threshold for elections to be 100% voter share

    Infoslide

Democracy intrinsically supports the idea of people voting for who they believe to be the most representative and competent individuals. Despite this, most democratic countries only require a majority of voter share for elections to be won. Caplan's argument against the myth of the rational voter implies to some extent that the reason why democracies don't instead require a 100% votershare is because voters themselves are inherently irrational, conforming to many misconceptions about the world; typically resulting in the failure of said democracy. Voter share refers to all the voters who DID vote in a given election

  • This house regrets the norm of preserving the original version of classical art pieces

    Infoslide

"A classical art piece refers to a historically significant artwork, often from the Renaissance, Baroque, or other pre-modern artistic periods, that has been widely recognized for its aesthetic, cultural, and intellectual value. Mona Lisa has no clearly visible eyebrows or eyelashes. In 2007, French engineer Pascal Cotte announced that his ultra high resolution scans of the painting provide evidence that Mona Lisa was originally painted with eyelashes and with visible eyebrows, but that these had gradually disappeared over time, perhaps as a result of overcleaning."

  • This house, as someone deeply in love with a long-term partner who no longer loves them, will use Rumi’s potion (on their partner)

    Infoslide

Rumi’s potion is a love potion only effective on people who have fallen out of love. It has three possible degrees of effectiveness: 50%, 100%, and -50%. 50% implies that when used on a subject, they love their romantic partner as much as that they once did. 100% implies that they love their partner two times more than they ever did, which means, 2x more affection, passion, devotion, etc. -50% implies that they hate their partner with as much intensity, deepness, and emotion as they ever loved them. The potion is unpredictable and there is an equal chance that it could demonstrate any (and only one) of its three degrees of effectiveness. The potion’s effects are permanent, irreversible even by usage of the potion itself.
