  • This house prefers the RTM-only system over the Retention-only system for the 2024 mega-auction.

    Infoslide

The Indian Premier League is a club based franchise cricket tournament. Clubs recruit players majorly via a “mega-auction” which occurs every 3 years. In the mega auction, every club has a capped equal pool of funds to bid for players from. For the upcoming 2025 IPL Season, clubs have been allowed to keep players through two methods. The first method is "Retention-only system", through which clubs can keep 3 players of their choice from the existing squad before an auction based on negotiation between the retained player and the team. Remaining un-retained are released into the auction. The second method is “right-to-match only system” a.k.a RTM-only system (applied during the auction) which allows clubs to match the final price of a player that was determined through auction, and keep them. Only 8 RTMs are allowed. Regardless of the method through which teams want to keep players, the money is deducted from their auction fund for that year.

Your responsibilities include monitoring the vital signs of patients, suggesting treatment plans, etc. NGH is also known to be underfunded with a sheer lack in manpower. One day, because of the number of patients during your shift, you fail to monitor the vitals of a critical patient for several hours. The doctor who rounded on the patient found that they have actually died already. News spread fast, and you become the center of controversy among your batch, even to the point of people anonymously posting about you in forums that reach the medical community in the country. The events have brought you significant mental and emotional distress to the point of you experiencing a psychiatric emergency.

  • This House prefers the New South Wales model of medical internship allocation to the Victoria model.

    Infoslide

Graduating medical students in Australia are not eligible to practice medicine unsupervised, and must complete a two year paid internship as a junior doctor in a public hospital to obtain general registration with the Medical Board of Australia. In New South Wales, internship positions are allocated without regard to indicia of merit (CV, grades etc). Candidates have the opportunity to express their preference of desired hospital, but these may not be honoured if too many applicants register their preference for a particular hospital. Domestic graduates of local universities are guaranteed a job, but must accept the single offer they are made. In Victoria, internships are allocated primarily by merit. Candidates receiving internships at the most sought after hospitals (generally large tertiary referral hospitals in metropolitan Melbourne) are decided by a combination of medical school grades, curriculum vitae, references from senior doctors and an interview.
