The Nuremberg trials held in 1945 after World War II were a series of trials promoted and organized by the winning powers (Great Britain, France, the Soviet Union, and the United States). They were carried out by exceptional military courts to judge the acts committed by some of the emblematic personalities of the Nazi regime. For this, new criminal types were created, such as crimes against humanity or genocide that did not exist previously and that had a strong influence on the drafting of current international criminal law.
