  • This house supports Stratospheric Aerosol Injections (SAIs)

    Infoslide

Stratospheric Aerosol Injections (SAIs) are a method of geoengineering of releasing particles into the stratosphere to cool the Earth's surface by reflecting sunlight. Advocates liken its effectiveness to natural volcanic occurrences, and it is scientifically proven to work. However, we have yet to develop planes which can fly at the altitude necessary to disperse SAIs, and we predict that it will be quite expensive to deploy (tens of billions per degree celsius cooler the planet becomes). Concerns linger about their potential to disrupt weather patterns, and once initiated, halting SAIs could lead to abrupt and severe temperature spikes, necessitating a commitment to continuous deployment.
