    The Eurovision Song Contest is an international music competition organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), a coalition of public service broadcasters from across Europe and neighbouring regions. Participation in Eurovision is open to active EBU members, and the EBU has full discretion over which broadcasters are eligible to compete. In 2022, following public and institutional pressure, the EBU banned Russia from participating due to its invasion of Ukraine and later suspended Russian broadcasters from its membership. In recent years, several national broadcasters, including those from Ireland, Iceland, and Spain, have publicly questioned Israel’s continued participation in light of its military operations in Gaza, urging the EBU to take similar action.

It constitutes a crossing that takes days to traverse across challenging terrain, and is used by migrants who are seeking to travel to the U.S from Colombia and other South American states. Over the last five years, the Darién Gap has gone from a little-used crossing considered impossible, to one used by over 500K migrants annually.

    The wagner group is a Russian state funded paramilitary group composed of mercenaries hired to carry out military operation. They are led by Yevgeny Prigozhin and have been instrumental in Russia’s invasion in Ukraine. Wagner, was previously given support by Putin, and specialized operations under the interest of Russia. Recently, Wagner has mounted a mutiny against Putin. The mutiny was eventually stopped by a deal brokered by Lukashenko the President of Belarus, Wagner now resides in the Belarus area.

    “The Arctic Council is an intergovernmental forum that was formed to enhance cooperation, coordination and interaction among Arctic States (states that border the Arctic Circle) with the active involvment of Arctic IPs and other Actic inhabitants on common Arctic matters. These matters include environmental policies, scienific research, and most recently security. The Arctic States are Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, the US, and Russia. After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the other 7 Arctic states refused to collaborate with Russia. Since then, both parties have conducted their own military exercises. Russia recently conducted missile tests in the Arctic.
