  • This House believes that Neuralink does more harm than good to humanity.

    Infoslide

Neuralink is a neurotechnology company founded by Elon Musk in 2016 that develops brain-computer interface (BCI) devices. These devices implant flexible electrodes into the brain to record and stimulate neural activity, allowing direct interaction between the brain and external systems. Its initial applications focus on enabling individuals with neurological conditions, such as paralysis, to control devices through thought. The technology involves the collection and transmission of brain data to external platforms managed by private entities, and is currently undergoing clinical trials to evaluate its feasibility and safety.

  • This House, as the Creator, would grant the Creature a companion.

    Infoslide

An individual (the Creator) successfully brings into existence a unique, intelligent, and sentient being (the Creature) through artificial means. Due to its unnatural origins and distinct appearance, the Creature is met with universal fear and revulsion from society, leading to profound isolation and suffering. Driven by this anguish and rejection, the Creature commits acts of violence against the society and the loved ones of the Creator. The Creature then confronts its Creator, demanding that a companion of its own kind be made, promising that if this is done, they will both retreat from human society and cause no further harm.

  • This House, as Game Freak, would prioritize the competitive balance of Pokémon VGC over casual player engagement when designing new Pokémon and mechanics for future generation games.

    Infoslide

Game Freak Inc. is a Japanese video game developer, best known as the primary developer of the Pokémon series. The games are widely enjoyed by casual players, whose main focus is adventuring through a fictional region, catching and raising Pokémon, and ultimately defeating in-game NPC opponents to become the regional Pokémon League champion. For most players, this experience is about enjoying the world, characters, and creatures—rather than competing against other real-life players. However, a small portion of the player base participates in the competitive "Pokémon VGC (Video Game Championships)" scene, which features structured, esports-style tournaments using standardized Double Battle rules. To accommodate both play styles, each new generation of the games introduces new Pokémon and new mechanics—such as Mega Evolution, Z-moves, Gigantamax, or Terastallization. These mechanics often aim to be visually exciting and fun for casual players, but not all of them are equally suited to competitive balance.

  • This House prefers a world in which all individuals undergo the "test" at the age of 25.

    Infoslide

For the purpose of this debate, the "test" is an immersive and psychologically realistic simulation where individuals experience tailored scenarios presenting ethical challenges, forcing them to confront their moral flaws. They would "pass the test" by demonstrating through their choices a reliable understanding and application of empathy and ethics in the face of those challenges. When individuals make the wrong decisions in the simulation, they "fail the test", and are granted an unlimited number of retries, for which their memories of previous attempts are wiped. Although specific memories are wiped, the simulation facilitates learning at a subconscious or foundational level, gradually improving the individual's inherent ethical responses. These simulated experiences, however long or intense they may feel to the individual, take only a split-second of time in reality. Individuals only wake up from the simulation after passing the test.

  • This House would ban Polymarket.

    Infoslide

Polymarket is a decentralized, crypto-based prediction market where users bet on the outcomes of real-world events. On the platform, individuals can create or participate in markets by buying and selling shares tied to specific future outcomes across a wide range of topics, such as political elections (e.g., who will win an election), economic indicators (e.g., inflation rates), current affairs (e.g., specific geopolitical events occurring by a certain date), or even cultural trends. Share prices, typically ranging from $0 to $1, fluctuate based on trading activity and are intended to reflect the market's aggregated probability of that particular outcome occurring. Once an event takes place and its outcome is verified, participants who correctly predicted the outcome receive a payout.

  • This house believes that the state should subsidize the research and manufacture of GLP1 products (i.e. Ozempic)

    Infoslide

GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptor agonists are a class of medications originally developed to treat Type 2 diabetes. In recent years, they have also been approved or prescribed for weight loss. These drugs mimic a hormone that regulates appetite and insulin production, leading to reduced hunger and slower digestion. Common GLP-1 medications include semaglutide (marketed as Ozempic and Wegovy). They have gained global attention for their effectiveness in significant weight loss, and are increasingly used by both diabetic and non-diabetic individuals

  • This house would offer substantial incentives for citizens who choose to shrink themselves to mitigate climate disaster

    Infoslide

Shrinking, also known as downsizing, refers to a technological process where humans are physically reduced in size to a fraction of their original stature (e.g., around 10cm tall). The process is permanent and safe which reduces an individual's ecological footprint by over 99% — including lower consumption of food, water, energy, and physical space.

  • This house, as a parent, W make their child undergo lifting

    Infoslide

Lifting is a form of early genetic enhancement where embryos are edited to promote advanced cognitive development — such as improved memory, faster information processing, and higher problem-solving abilities. The procedure is generally effective but is associated with a 30% increase in the risk of certain chronic conditions later in life (such as autoimmune diseases or neurodegenerative disorders). There is also a minor risk of complications during the enhancement process itself, including higher infant mortality rates compared to non-edited births.

  • This House hopes for the advancement of 'Theory of Mind' in AI.

    Infoslide

'Theory of Mind' is an area in AI that focuses on building systems that can infer and reason about the mental states of humans. This would allow AI to anticipate behavior, adapt communication, and interact more naturally and ethically. Currently, AI does not truly possess Theory of Mind.
