It is split between groups like the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), which use violence to seek independence, and parties like the BNP (Balochistan National Party), which pursue autonomy through elections and legal means. The BLA has historically resorted to destroying infrastructure, targeting security personnel, and sabotaging foreign investments. Most recently, in March 2025, they hijacked a passenger train, killed five officers, and injured many others.
