A efectos de este debate existe un nuevo estudio que demuestra de manera irrefutable que las cifras fueron manipuladas y que la mayor parte de las víctimas las causó el Estado siendo Sendero responsable del 30% de bajas y no del 54%. El autor ha fallecido por lo que el estudio no podría repetirse y tienes en tus manos la única copia que existe.
