    Shipping - short for relationshipping, is the act of rooting for romantic relationship between two fictional characters, often by a loyal subset of viewers, readers of said fiction eg: Johnlock - sherlock holmes and john watson from sherlockholmes; merthut - merlin and arthur from merlin, etc. Canon- as in literary canon can be narrowly defined as that which is accepted as authentic, or official in the context of the literary piece / writing of a particular author, which are considered by scholars and critics in general to be the genuine creation of that particular author; this is based on some already deduced rules intended to be applied on the future pieces in the same genres.

    The Ballroom community is an African-American and Latino underground LGBTQ+ subculture. Beginning in the late 20th century, Black and Latino drag queens began to organize their own pageants in opposition to racism experienced in established drag queen pageant circuits. In order to participate in a "ballroom", participants will compete in a "ball" arranged by the community across different categories such as voguing, walking through runways wearing fashion elements according to the set categories, etc. The community has been very vocal about non-Ballroom individuals partaking in those acts, such as shaming them for voguing by calling it as "no-guing", exclaiming that non-Ballroom individuals doing those acts have committed grave cultural appropriation, etc.

    Hijra is a gender identity and community in South Asia that consists of predominantly trans women and intersex people but is often used as an umbrella term by trans people. They are officially recognised as a third gender in India. In Hindu Mythology, they identify with the half-man / half-woman representations of Shiva and are considered to hold mystical powers. They are often invited to congregations on auspicious events like the birth of a child or a marriage to bless people.
