    As of May 23, 2025, the United States and Iran are engaged in their fifth round of nuclear negotiations in Rome, mediated by Oman. The central issue is Iran's uranium enrichment program. The U.S. has insisted that Iran cease all uranium enrichment activities. Conversely, Iran maintains that enrichment is a sovereign right and non-negotiable. Iran is currently enriching uranium to 60%, significantly above the 3.67% limit set by the JCPOA in 2015.

    Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) describes a hypothetical type of AI that would have cognitive abilities on par or beyond that of human cognitive abilities. Unlike narrow AI, which is fed on data and then able to reproduce knowledge and execute simple to somewhat complex tasks, an AGI would be capable of understanding, learning, and applying intelligence across a wide range of different tasks, even those it has not been specifically trained for. AGI would be able to solve complex problems, plan, reason, and adapt to new environments independently, much like a human being. For example, an AGI could potentially excel at language, provide medical diagnoses, create knowledge and art and learn entirely new skills without being explicitly programmed for each task.
