    For the purpose of this debate Social Justice Coups occur when the military rises up in defense of the general population against its own civil authority usually after a long period of civilan discontent. Characteristics of such coups typically involves the creation of transitionary governments popular support of the military by the people and a lack of retributive violence against civilians. Since 2010 such coups have occurred in Mali Sudan Egypt and Zimbabwe.

    The CFA franc encompassed 14 West and Central African nations, including Niger, Cameroon, Mali and Côte d’Ivoire. The currency was pegged at a fixed rate against the euro, and compelled participating African countries to deposit 50% of their foreign exchange reserves with the French treasury. this in turn guaranteed payments into euros even if the CFA member state could not meet import payments. While an important source of financial stability, the CFA franc has long been politically sensitive owing to the power it exerts over countries which have now been independent from France for over half a century, and has recently come to an end as of July 2020.

    Tigray is a region in Northern Ethiopia and is home to the Tigrayan people. The Tigrayan People's Liberation Front lost power to Abiy Ahmed in 2018 Ahmed went on to create the Prosperity party and invited the TPLF who refused and joined the opposition. Due to covid the planned election in 2020 was postponed the TPLF decided to hold their election in the Tigray region regardless which was met with military threat by the Ethiopian government. Because of this Tigray has been involved in a a civil war involving both the Ethiopian National Defense Force and the allied Eritrean Defense Force. this conflict has lead to mass famine in the Tigray region in part caused by actions from the Ethiopian governement that include choking and witholding humanitarian aid resources though the Ethiopian government denies this.

    Francafrique is a phenomenon used to define France's sphere of influence over former French and Belgian colonies in Sub-Saharan Africa. The phenomemon has resulted in significant French influence in the military social political cultural and economic spheres of life in Sub-Saharan Africa. Ever since being elected as President Emmanuel Macron has taken up an explicit public stance of eliminating Francafrique and redefining French-African relationships to reflect mutual respect for sovereignty - writing off of major debts increasing liquidity of African eocnomies and promoting liberalised investments into the region. However Macron's efforts have been largely difficult to implement as France has been engaged in a large scale military effort in the Salem region against jihadist forces increased competition for regional supremacy from China Russia and Turkey multiple instances of political instability in countries like Ivory Coast and Chad and fears over stability of the newly proposed Eco currency that will likely replace the Franc as the common currency in the ECOWAS region.

    The people of Tigray the northernmost region of Ethiopia comprise 6 percent of the country’s 110 million people yet have enjoyed disproportionately large power and influence for nearly three decades. In November Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of the Prosperity Party ordered a violent military offensive after he accused the regional ruling party the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) of attacking a government military base. this follows a long-simmering feud between the federal government and the TPLF and came at a turbulent time with Ahmed trying to steer the country from ethnic federalism to a unified nation. Ahmed has declared emergency rule in the Tigray region which is occupied by state forces and now facing a humanitarian crisis.

The publicly announced goals of this policy were to help foster political stability inside the affected countries, as well as cooperation between these countries and France. In 2021, France announced the decision to start withdrawing from the region and putting an end to its military operations there.

They claimed it was in violation of world trade treaties and stifled all supply of ARVs to South During the trial. this led to the death of many infected South Africans. In 2001 the companies caved in to international pressure and withdrew their case.
