    Infoslide

In October 2025, the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON)—a coalition of predominantly Global South Anglican provinces—announced that it would no longer recognize the authority of the Archbishop of Canterbury or the traditional instruments of the Anglican Communion. The decision followed the appointment of Sarah Mullally as the first female Archbishop of Canterbury, which GAFCON leaders criticized as reflecting a departure from traditional doctrine. GAFCON declared plans to form its own theocratic leadership and governance structures, as well as establish a parallel Anglican denomination to the traditional Anglican communion.

  • We believe that Rose has a moral obligation to reveal her identity instead of continuing to hide it.

    Infoslide

In the universe of Steven Universe, the Gem Empire is a hierarchical regime led by four Diamonds, where lower-ranked Gems are created solely for serving and colonizing planets, including Earth. Before Rose appeared, there were groups of discontented Gems organizing resistance, but they were small-scale and lacked leadership. Pink Diamond, one of the four leaders, after realizing the injustices within the system and the beauty of Earth, faked her death and lived under the identity of Rose Quartz – the leader of the rebel movement known as the Crystal Gems. Rose became a strategic and spiritual leadership symbol, but kept her true identity hidden. Pearl – a core member of the Crystal Gems – is the only one who knows the truth due to a vow of loyalty. The "disappearance" of Pink led the remaining three Diamonds to believe she was assassinated, which intensified their oppression on the colonized planets.

  • This House believes Zimbabwe was justified in implementing the Fast‑Track Land Reform Programme despite the imposition of ZDERA.

    Infoslide

In 2000, Zimbabwe launched its Fast‑Track Land Reform Programme (FTLRP), under which land owned by white commercial farmers was seized and redistributed to Black Zimbabweans, often without compensation. The policy aimed to address colonial‑era land inequality, in which a small minority held most of the fertile farmland. In response, the United States enacted the Zimbabwe Democracy and Economic Recovery Act (ZDERA) of 2001. Under this law, the Government of Zimbabwe was barred from participating in programmes administered by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

  • This House Believes That humanity should implement the Prime Directive.

    Infoslide

In the distant future, humanity has developed the capability to travel to distant worlds. In doing so it has encountered many civilisations (of intelligent extraterrestrial life), and continues to do so. The Prime Directive is a general instruction of non-intervention. It states that, when humans interact with less developed civilisations, those humans should not seek to alter the social, cultural or technological development of the civilisation. This includes but is not limited to: prohibitions on providing less developed civilisations with advanced technologies or medicines; making no references to the existence of other extraterrestrial life forms and civilisations; not intervening against leaders that humanity deems morally dubious.

  • This house opposes the Indian government’s increasing reliance on bureaucratic centralization (e.g., governor’s rule, deployment of central admistrative officers, restricting peace talks to central interlocutors, etc.) to manage insurgency in the the country's North-eastern states (Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, etc).

    Infoslide

A number of India's North-eastern states predominantly governed by regional political parties, face multiple armed insurgencies involving several militants groups, arising out of a history of ethnic tensions. These insurgencies often target state security forces, infrastructure, and rival ethnic communities. Recently, the insurgency in Manipur, which erupted in May 2023, was characterized by ethnic violence between the Meitei and Kuki-Zo communities, resulting in significant loss of life and displacement. The conflict stemmed from a court decision regarding the Meitei community's demand for Scheduled Tribe status, which the Kuki-Zo oppose due to concerns about potential loss of their traditional rights and land. In response, the central government deployed large numbers of central paramilitary forces, asserted emergency-like powers, and shifted key administrative powers to the Governor, bypassing the elected state government.
